This card is the Ace of Flints, which corresponds to the Ace of Swords in the standard tarot. Here, the white hand of Ixquimili, Our Lord the Curved Obsidian Blade, god of stone, cold, frost, and judgement, and the King of Fints, grasps in his hands a great flint, eyes open and mouth agape. The flint is painted with the colored bands that signify a jeweled and precious thing, and it is crowned with the obsidian crown of rulership and authority. From its open mouth issues a chip of jade, which writhes with flame. The hand emerges from a fragrant and blossoming cloud, and beyond, the sun rises over a fertile and growing landscape.
This is a card of new beginnings, like all the aces, but it signifies a forked path. Like the two edged flint, which can be wielded in the service of truth, authority, and justice, it can also be a malevolent tool which casts down the good and innocent. This card does not imply which path will be taken by the querent, but only warns against the power shortly to come in his grasp, and of the uses to which this power might be put. This is a card of potential; it is the bearer who decides through his actions to what end such power is placed. This is also a card of the spirit; this card represents that new spiritual insights await, and that through such understanding the achievement of difficult goals will come within reach. however, like the two edged sword, this knowledge can cut; beware of its danger.
