This card is the Knight of Jade, which corresponds to the Knight of Pentacles in the standard tarot. The knight is here a Jaguar Knight, carrying a palanquin adorned with great jades, on which rides the God and King of Jades, Xochipilli, the Young Prince of Flowers, seated on his jaguar throne. He is a Jaguar Knight because Jade is an earth sign, and the jaguar is the mysterious creature which dwells in the heart of the mountain. The knight is powerful, slow, and stolid; this card refers to these qualities, of usefulness, responsibility, and a stoic temperment. Like the Jaguar in the Mountain, the Knight of Jade keeps his own council, is dark, silent, and mysterious. Reversed, the card carries the same meanings but taken to their negative extremes; idleness, stagnation, and carelessness. Also, a tale bearer, gossip, and voluble person.
