This card is the Eight of Flints, which corresponds to the Eight of Swords in the standard tarot. A young woman dressed as Xochiquetzal, the Plumed Blossom, goddess of love, art, and youth, stands bound to an armature of bone, as though readied for sacrifice, her eyes blindfolded. At her feet spring forth eight flint knives, and her feet rest upon a dark moon. She is in a rocky and desert landscape, before a city lost in night. This card represents bad news, violent chagrin, sickness, conflict, and calumny. The powers of love and art are overcome by night.
