Diary ~ Dulcissima

May, 2007

I started work on the Carmina Burana project today, after my very long break. I decided to do the final and less challenging drawing, based on one of the songs, which says, simply, "Dulcissima, Sweetest one, ah, I give myself to you totally." The preliminary drawing went very fast (or relatively - the whole day, rather than the two or three I might have thought), and I am now ready to set to work on the actual piece. I love the way it came out. Anyway, the drawing follows below, in which the young man has given himself, accomponied and inspired by another on the violin.

I worked up the drawing from photographs I had taken before I left of Scribble and his boyfriend making love. For the violinist, I used myself, but also from a photo, rather than my usual drawing from life (or a mirror - it was just too complicated to use two or three mirrors for the back pose). Anyway, I am including some of the photos below of myself as the violinist.

Here I am posing, with Marcelito looking on from the background. He had just woken up and was a little sleepy.

I picked up Marcel's guitar to use as the violin. I hadn't even noticed at the time, but Marcelito must have felt the need to get naked too.

And finally, some photos of my models for Dulcissima in a wonderful mood.
