Diary ~ Drawing "Taverna"

I started working on the final piece in the Carmina Burana series, set in a tavern. My version will be in an outdoor beergarder, and as in the opera, will involve drinking, strip poker, and sex. The first of the studies follows below:

I did a series of drawings from life of my models in various strip poker scenes. The one above was my favorite. I had previously done some quick sketches to give myself an idea of poses and compositions, and worked on these figure studies with those preliminary sketches in mind. Afterwards, I put them together and traced them onto a larger sheet, and drew them in in much greater detail, as can be seen below:

The drawing above is a study to see how figures will interrelate in the final painting; This will also be used towards the final and detailed study. And finally, some photos of my models, during a break from sitting still and modeling for drawings, dancing around my studio.
