Diary ~ At the Yuba River with Dewey

These photos were actually taken last summer; I go to the Yuba River regularly with friends. We usually drive to Nevada City, park our car there, and hitch hike back to the river with all of our camping gear. If you hike up far enough, you can spend a few nights, and swim naked every day, without fear of people coming upon you. Its so beautiful. But this trip was different; Dewey is a boy I've been dating on and off again for a year now. This was a romantic trip; we booked a hotel for the night, which was a beautiful and decrepit gold rush monstrosity, which while uncomfortable, appealed nicely to my romantic leanings and historical sensibility. Plus it had a huge claw foot tub, with its own romantic implications. We drove to the river, hiked up, and spent a couple of days lounging on rocks, swimming in the very very cold water (it was a little late in the year), and making love among the rocks. It was beautiful. We took pictures of each other the whole trip, and we are planning on going again for a long weekend in a couple of weeks. Enjoy the photos,
