Felix D'Eon Diary ~ Sunday at the Beach #2 March, 2006 |

It started to grow cold, and we knew we would have to leave soon, so Jason, Jesse and I threw down our things and ran into the ocean for a swim. I handed my camera before hand to an older gentleman who had been surreptitiously watching us from nearby, and asked if he wouldn’t mind taking pictures. He was delighted to, so the three of us ran into the surf – it was so terribly, shockingly cold! We of course knew it would be, but still, the shock of it was so tremendous. Jason, Jesse and I splashed each other in the water, and the cold was so intense each droplet burned. I grabbed onto Jason and tried to pull him down, my hand reaching between his thighs to destabilize him and bring him to the ground. But he was much stronger than me, and clearly, better practiced at wrestling than I; he immediately moved into the best position to lock me in his arms and push me, struggling and squirming, my arms locked between his thighs and around his waist, inexorably down. He pushed his knee into my back and with his hand pressed my face into the sand. I could feel the freezing water washing over my back and thighs, and the pressure of his hands against my body, and no matter how much I resisted I couldn’t free myself from his grip. Just then Jesse jumped on him and freed me, and the two fell laughing and squirming into the surf. I immediately joined in – and we stayed that way, limbs flailing and water splashing, until we simply couldn’t take the water anymore, and even the warmth of our naked bodies against each other was not enough to stay the cold.
It was an amazing day. Jason went back with his friends, and I went home with Jesse, to spend a little time cooling off from the day and having dinner. The weather is looking up, and a summer of beautiful days on the beach or the swimming holes inland beckons.
